I have PTSD.
I'm 46. As a teenager I started feeling like I had a hard time getting a full breath of air into my lungs.

Parents took me to doctor, they found nothing wrong.

I have struggled with this on and off throughout my life. Someone suggested it was stress induced asthma.

Physical activity while I am having this is difficult. I feel Like I am about to pass out. Get a little dizzy.

I have tried benzos, grounding, meditation, antidepressants, breathing with my diaphragm, edmr therapy. Anything I can think of. It always takes ahold of me. Eventually it goes away in a week or two. It's distressing in the meantime.

Has anyone experienced this? And if so, what helps?

My wife was misdiagnosed with everything from anxiety disorder to a few serious heart conditions (costochondritis, miocarditis) for decades before finally getting a proper asthma diagnosis. Now when she starts to feel breathing difficulty she takes 2-3 puffs from her Ventolin inhaler and it sets her right, so obviously it was asthma all along. It only took 20 years to figure it out. Ugh.

Anyhow, you can get Ventolin online and give it a try when you start to feel the symptoms you describe (which btw sound just like asthma to me). If you do, start with a single inhale as it can be strong for newbies and make you jittery if you take additional inhales. It only takes a minute to take effect and is used for emergency asthma attacks, not scheduled use like steroids. Hope this helps.
